Dear wonderful family of the Lord

I would like to encourage all of you to continue pushing forward towards the calling God has placed on your lives.

Led by the Holy Spirit I journeyed through a thought and came across a spiritual treasure which I hope will bless your hearts.

The question: What have I done or achieved (or what will I do or have capacity to achieve) with my life that glorifies God (or will glorify God) and that gives (or will give) meaning and purpose to my life or existence? You could be 5 years old or 60 years old, any age for that matter and ask that question.

The thought:

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Before God created you God foreknew you – God Foreknew all things for He created all things (Genesis 1 and John 1), and therefore God created each one of us before conception in our mother’s womb.
He then allowed, in His perfect timing, conception to take place in your mother’s womb and you started to live and form in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-15). You were then born into this world and continued to grow, mature and develop.

At conception God did more than just give you life, He also placed in you talents and abilities which you would naturally prosper in. This means that throughout your years of life you grew in your God given strengths even before you became a reborn Christian. You may not have used your talents and abilities to bring glory to God but you mastered them non the less. Your life experiences and choices contributed greatly to your condition before you received Jesus and your current condition is an extension of the transforming power of a relationship with Jesus. You were predestined by God for a unique purpose and therefore you have all the favour from God regarding your calling. God predestined the things you would do and encounter, (be careful here not to box God into the category of puppet master, rather know and understand God as our Father who gave us all free will which means some things happened by our own doing or the doing of others and not because God chose that encounter for you). God’s plan for your life is perfect and pure and very exciting and to walk in that plan takes obedience. I would like to call this stage pre-spiritual pregnancy.

In your case I’m glad to say that you are a reborn Christian and have started to seek more urgently your purpose in Jesus Christ. This leads us to the moment in time when God conceives in your spirit His calling for your life; I would like to call this stage spiritual pregnancy. In this stage of your life you get a glimpse of your calling (Priest or King – Revelation 5:10, five fold – Ephesians 4:11-12) and an excitement starts to brew in you. During this stage you train more specifically and start preparing yourself for that calling. Pregnancy can take time and can be challenging, trying and testing before you are ready to step into your calling, your spiritual birth.

Once you are ready and you have developed and matured spiritually, emotionally, and your character has strengthened then what I would like to say: ‘spiritual birth’ takes place.

Every son and daughter of God has been given a mandate, and we are a team of highly skilled children of God, who are called for a higher purpose than our own. Skill we have, purpose we have, called we are. If justified by God then we have spiritual approval, even a spiritual anointing to do the work. Trust God in this development process to glorify His name through you. You just have to trust and obey. God glorifies, not man.

Keep pressing toward the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil 3:14).

Be blessed and Stay blessed in our Father and Lord Jesus Christ!
