Naturally every child of God has a unique and wonderful calling and purpose given by God. Often we embrace the bigger picture but may get discouraged in the finer details.

Recently I had a telephonic conversation with a child of God who is highly anointed for business and in the field for forty years. Although the work ethic was high in the business the general state of encouragement within the team was very low. It’s in moments like these that many of us may ask the Lord the following:
“Lord please remind me why am I here again.”
“Did you really send me here God?”,
“Is it time to go?”

In the midst of our telephonic conversation the Holy Spirit reminded me that He had a greater mission in mind over and above the day to day job description that the business gave. Immediately when I shared this the person was relieved and peace was restored. That is why when taking on new adventures or assignments with the Lord it is important to ask God for the bigger and smaller details. For example: “Lord I know you want me to move to the Canary Islands with my company firm but what exactly do you want me to achieve there for You?”

I really want to encourage everyone in the family of God to ask the Lord for a few more details on your specialised assignment from Him. In this way when it gets discouraging or feels impossible to continue in your sphere of influence these details will often help you to stay anchored in the Lord.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Philippians 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
